Health Guarantee Activation

_____This puppy has been examined by a locally, licensed veterinarian and has been found to be in good health. Any non-health and health related issues have been noted and buyer has been made aware of. Buyer is required to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 5 days of purchasing the puppy. Failure to do so will void the 1-year replacement guarantee.

 

Immunizations and Dewormings

_____The puppy is current on its age-appropriate vaccinations and has had its dewormings. Even though your puppy has been dewormed prior to adopting him/her, puppy wormers are only effective against adult worms and do not kill larva that can easily be picked up by your puppy. Young puppies need frequent deworming to protect them as they develop. Internal parasites, including various intestinal worms, coccidia and giardia are common in all breeds of young puppies. It is the responsibility of the buyer to continue this type of care after the puppy is at his/her new home.

 

Hernias and more

_____Heart String Healthy puppies does not guarantee past, present or future hernias. This includes umbilical and inguinal hernias. Buyer is responsible for all costs, veterinarian visits and repairs/surgeries associated with these. This guarantee does not include uneven bites, un-dropped testicles, inverted vulvas, umbilical hernias, inguinal hernias, luxating patellae and heart murmurs.

 

Genetic Diseases, Health Issues and more

­­_____ If the puppy is found to be in unacceptable health, a written statement from the veterinarian should be forwarded to the seller and the puppy should be returned within 72 hours (at buyer’s expense) for a replacement. Buyer agrees to inform breeder of any health issues that might arise in said puppy so breeder can work to eliminate them from the breed. Buyer agrees to forward veterinarian statements to the breeder explaining these health issues. If the puppy should pass away for any reason an autopsy MUST be performed at buyers’ expense and results forwarded to breeder within 15 days. If the puppy should develop a severe genetic disease before its first birthday and can no longer function as a Pet/Companion Animal, the breeder will replace at no charge with a comparable puppy. The puppy will be replaced either from the same litter or from a future litter. A proper letter from the veterinarian stating the problem found and the veterinarian's opinion on the viability of the animal must be sent to the seller within 15 days of diagnosis. The seller will have the final say on whether the original puppy must be returned or not.

 

Veterinarian Visits

_____The buyer is solely responsible for all veterinarian visit costs. This includes but is not limited to: corrective surgeries, cosmetic surgeries, vaccinations, dewormings, regular health care visits, spaying/neutering, euthanasia, etc. All the veterinarian bills and return shipping fees are the responsibility of the buyer and will not be accepted by the breeder. Buyer gives permission for breeder to contact buyer’s veterinarian to discuss any health issues that may arise in this puppy to aid in improving health in future generations of Heart String Healthy Puppies.

 

Miscellaneous

_____This puppy is not to be used for breeding under any circumstances. Any breeding, even accidental, voids all guarantees. At the time of sale, this puppy is considered and being sold as pet quality. Heart String Healthy Puppies offers no guarantee that disqualifying faults will not arise at a later date which would make this puppy unsuitable for the show ring or for breeding. Buyer agrees to notify the breeder if they can no longer care for the puppy. Puppy shall be returned to the breeder at the buyer’s expense. This puppy cannot be transferred to a third party without written consent from the breeder. This contract applies to the original buyer only and is non-transferable to a second party.
